Halloween Coding Competition

Our annual spooky themed competition is now open!

You can submit your project as an individual or as part of a team of up to four. To enter, create a coding project and this years theme it must include a monster! Your monster doesn't have to be scary at all! It could be a cute monster, a silly monster, or even a friendly one. The rest of the project is entirely up to you. Whether it's a game, a story, a website, or an animation, be as creative as you like!

If you are a winner, we will contact your teacher and arrange for your prize to be sent to your school.

Themed Coding Competition

The exclusive dressCode club competition runs every year from September until the end of April.

You can submit your project as an individual or as part of a team of up to four. To enter, simply pick any one of our themed coding projects and submit your solution. Whether it's a game, a story, a website, or an animation, be as creative as you like!

Winners will be announced in June. If you are a winner, we will contact your teacher and arrange for your prize to be sent to your school.

FAQs

  • Yes! Our competitions are always completely free to enter.

  • Description text The competition is open to all Primary and Secondary pupils. Prizes can only be sent to schools in the UK and Ireland.

  • This year, we're challenging you to create a coding project and this years theme it must include a monster! Your entry could be:

    • A spooky story or animation.

    • An adventure game.

    • A fun website.

    Your monster doesn't have to be scary at all! It could be a cute monster, a silly monster, or even a friendly one. The rest of the project is entirely up to you.

  • The judges will be looking for projects that are creative and stand out. Your project must use code to make your ideas come to life.

  • Yes! You can enter a team project with a maximum of 4 people. You can also enter on your own.

  • No unfortunately not. We are only accepting one entry per person.

  • You can use any free coding tool you like! Here are some of our favorites:

    • Scratch

    • Repl.it

    • Microsoft MakeCode

    • Thunkable

    You can use any coding tool you love, whether it's Scratch, Scratch Jr, MakeCode Arcade, or anything else. It must be made with code and make sure it features a monster!

  • We have lots of cool tech gadgets to give away! Past prizes have included Sphero minis, Makey Makey kits, Raspberry Pi 400, and Divoom Pixel Art.

    Prizes depend on the availability of products.

  • We are a small team, but we will contact the teacher of the winning entries by the end of December.

  • Unfortunately not. We would love to give feedback to every entry, but with so many amazing projects submitted, it's just not possible. Just know that every entry is considered and judged fairly.
