For Pupils

  • The dressCode Club is for girls ages 5 to 14 who want to learn to code and bring their ideas to life.

    Our senior pupils (ages 14-18) can get involved by becoming dressCoe senior mentors and helping to run a dressCode club with support of a trusted adult (teacher etc).

  • Yes, absolutely! You can use the site to access all our resources and projects.

    If you'd like to start a dressCode club, you can ask a teacher at your school or a volunteer at your library to help, show them this site. When logged in we have also included resources to help like a template letter you can use and promotional materials etc to help you get a dressCode club started in your school, library or community.

  • Not at all! Our resources are designed for beginners, so you can learn everything you need to know as you go.

  • Yes, you can! Just be sure to include everyone's full names and make it clear which school each person is from when you submit your entry. We need this information so we can send any prizes to the right schools if your team wins.

For Club Leaders

  • No, you don’t! Our site provides all the resources, projects, videos, and guidance you need to run a successful dressCode club, even if you’ve never coded before.

  • No! A dressCode Club can be run in any safe place with trusted adults, like a school, library, or community center.

For Parents & Guardians

  • The club is designed for girls ages 5 to 14. We recommend that a parent or trusted adult works with our youngest dressCoders (ages 5-7) on the projects to support them.

  • Yes. Pupils under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian's permission to sign up. They can either give their consent by checking a box during the sign-up process, or a parent or guardian can sign up on their child's behalf using their own email address.

  • Yes, the dressCode Club is completely free to join and provides access to high-quality educational content.

General Questions

  • Yes, our mission is to empower the next generation of female coders.

    We also do run a number of annual competitions throughout the year that are open to all genders. These include our popular Christmas, Halloween, Summer of Code, and Cyber Advent Calendars. They are a great way to engage all pupils and get them excited about computing.
